Before it goes in the postbox.
- Write Santa’s address on the front of the envelope, using the address shown here.
- Add a real postage stamp. This is a postal letter, so downloading our sheet does not pay for postage.
- Royal Mail asks for the sender’s full name and address on the back of the envelope. A grown-up can help with that part.
- Post by the published deadline. Royal Mail says Santa will try to reply to as many letters as possible; a reply is not guaranteed.
The address, deadline and postal instructions above come from Royal Mail. Our website is independent and does not post letters or arrange Royal Mail replies.
Make a quiet moment of it.
Put out a pencil, an envelope and a few colouring pencils. Start with something they enjoyed this year, then an idea for a kind thing they could do. A wish can be a picture, a few words or a whole little story.
Our original one-page sheet leaves room for all three. There is no form to fill in online: print it and write by hand. Younger writers can draw, dictate to a grown-up or leave a section blank.
